The laser used is of a specific wavelength and when the laser touches the iris, it creates changes in the iris’s surface. This removes the existing eye color of the person. During this process certain tissues are damaged and this changes the cell structure of the iris. Now the body reacts to the change and releases certain proteins. Due to this reaction the color of the iris changes and becomes darker. The total duration taken for the entire iris to change its color would be more than a week. The change is gradual but effective.
